"'Tis the season to be jolly", as that famous Christmas song says. Christmas is an occasion many people from all around the world look forward to. It is a time for giving and sharing and also a time for food and festivities. With all these great activities connected with the holiday season, it is best to plan ahead. Get your papers and pencils ready. Let us create our Christmas checklist.
Christmas decors

There are countries around the globe where Christmas is actually celebrated from September (the start of the Ber months) until the Feast of the Epiphany in January of the following year. That means a 4-month celebration. Marking the beginning of the festivities would be to decorate the home. Some people who value practicality would usually bring out their old Christmas decors and see what else can be used for this year's celebration. Others would start scouting for bargains around the corner.
Christmas balls, lanterns, snowflakes and Christmas tree are things you need to include in your checklist. You can start visualising how your home should look this time around. On top of all these considerations, whatever your style is when it comes to decorating for the holidays, make sure it is something that brings in the joyous feeling that comes with the season.
Music
Christmas carols and hymns are again starting to play on the radios – at least for some. You can pick from the classical Christmas hymns or maybe look for the newest songs that can be downloaded via the Apple or Google Play store. It is again a choice that you have to make based on your mood. Slow rock, pop songs, ballads, etc. – all of them qualify as the right type of music to play for this season.
Gifts
Giving gifts (or at least sharing what you have to the less fortunate in your community) is one thing that makes Christmas extra special. When planning for what to give your friends and family members though, you may need to check on last year's list to see what you have already given them. You do not want repeating gifts, do you? If that list from last year is no longer available, do not fret. You can go and check their Christmas wish list too. There is certainly some information you can get in there if you want to give them the best gift this holiday season. It would be good to shop now than be part of the Christmas rush later on.
Stocking up
Stocking up some items can ideally be made two weeks before Christmas but it would be good enough to plan now. You do not want missing out on anything later. Simple Christmas essentials from food to drinks could be forgotten so be sure you are ready with them. You can also start stocking up for Christmas wrappers; you do not want wrapping gifts a night before Christmas.
Food
If you already have a menu in mind, better list them down and see what ingredients are available in your kitchen cupboards and which ones need to be bought from your grocery stores. Some of these items are being sold at a discount thus it is best to take advantage of them now. You can also assign other family members or friends to cook one recipe each just so you will not be burdened by having too much to prepare for come Christmas day.
