Have You Tried Grilling These Vegetables?

If you are a year round griller, you already know how great it is to do the grilling. If it is in the winter months, you will definitely want to get a little smoke on whatever you are preparing. But you cannot deny the fact that grilling in summer is much superior. Barbeque catering is a great way to enjoy special occasions with your colleagues or friends and some of the foodstuffs you cannot afford to miss on your grill are the vegetables. And not all vegetables should find their way there; below are the top vegetables that you can enjoy as you eat and also make your grilling a great experience:

Egg plants

It is recommended that you first slice your eggplants into planks and then give them a bath in a marinade before putting them on the grill. And you want to get smart when grilling your eggplants; have a combination of them with garlic, vinegar, basil and oil to enjoy your food.

Green beans

Green beans are really wonderful when grilled. But there are those slender ones that can easily slip through your grill grate. So, you want to make your grilling task easier by using a grill basket. In fact, a grill basket that comes with a lid could be your best bet because it will allow you to get vigorous in your shaking without the fear of losing your beans. Because you want to keep your green beans simple, you only need to add some olive oil, pepper and salt before grilling, and a little butter immediately they are off the grill.

Tomatoes

Of course tomatoes are technically fruits, but there is something that you can enjoy in them once grilled. In fact, their flavor can hugely be improved when grilled. And it is simple to get there; just cut your tomatoes in half, crosswise, and then start them cut side down on your grill. It is after thee minutes that you can turn them over or even add a dollop of pesto. Cook them for another four minutes before serving.

Onions

When grilled, onions change more than other kinds of vegetables. The pungent and sharp flavor transforms into something sweet and mellow, and anyone will like it. In order to have an easy time on your grill, cut them crosswise into about half inch slices, and then run a skewer through them. You also want the insides to get cooked through, so it is important to grill over medium heat.

Potatoes

So you got new potatoes or fingerling? These can be great if you first par boil them until they are about cooked through. It is after this that you can thread onto the skewers before finishing them on the grill. These ones are going to be tasty. And if you have some russets and of course time, you can make smoked potatoes. Just build some fire for the indirect grilling and add a handful of smoking chunks or chips before rubbing your potatoes with some little olive oil. For better results, season them with pepper and salt. Then put them in the grill and close grill's lid. Wait for forty minutes in order to top them with sour cream or chives. Your mind will get blown!

Asparagus

This is the king of vegetables especially when it comes to grilling. Asparagus is hard to beat even when in season, but when put on the grill for a few minutes, it becomes even better. After the spears are grilled, dress them with a whip up of garlic aioli; it becomes downright magical.
