This is the first step to having a successful barbequing party. Great barbeques are a result of the usage of high quality smokers and grills. These can be purchased in a variety of online and offline stores.  Purchase a grill that is specifically made for smoking to create a distinctive, smoky flavor. While at it, do not forget to get the right BBQ forks, grill brushes, tongs and grill scrapers.

After the equipment is the selection of the best choice meat cuts. It is recommended to be as discriminatory as possible when selecting meat for a catered BBQ occasion. After all, the quality of the menu will depend on the selected meat cuts and other accompanying ingredients.  For grilled beef steak, most of the chefs recommend going for rib-eye as it has the most fat and juice that will drip and feed the flame while being grilled. Nor only this, rib-eye is able to retain the flavor and tenderness when being grilled or cooked. For pork cuts, go for lean meat that has pinkish flesh and firm creamy fat.

3.    Season cast iron equipment

Prior to putting any food for barbequing on a grill with cast iron grates, ensure it is properly seasoned.  You might think to yourself on how you should get started. Well, start by pouring some common cooking oil onto a paper towel and then smearing it onto the cast iron equipment surfaces. This helps to keep the cast iron equipment in good condition. Apart from this, it will prevent the meat from sticking to the grid.

4.    Smoke the meat before the grilling

As the smoking process takes around four to five hours, it helps to begin the procedure a number of hours earlier or before the food is expected to be ready. There are two basic options that can be opted for when it come to food smoking.  These are:

•    Usage of portable electric smokers

•    Turning your normal gas or charcoal grill into a smoker

5.    Try out a number of woods for smoking

Experiment with as many hard woods as you have access to so as to determine which type produces the best flavor to match the selected barbequing sauce. Common woods are such as mesquite, apricot, alder, pear, apple, hickory, pecan, alder, plum, oak, lemon, cedar, maple, birch and peach. Note however that certain woods work best with specific meat types. Pear for example works best with pork and poultry while works well with all types of meats. Mesquite on the other hand works particularly well the beef and vegetables.  Pressure-treated woods and all soft woods should never be used in meat smoking since they contain a high level of toxic chemicals.

6.    Make your barbeque a saucy occasion

The selected sauce can make or break a barbeque. Sauces are what differentiate one BBQ event from another. To create the best barbeque, frequently apply the best sauce to the meat using a barbequing brush. By so doing, your meat will slowly tenderize and infused with a unique BBQ flavor. If you do not know which sauce to opt for, then why not try out different sauces on different meat cuts?

Last but not the least, when grilling your meat, it is recommended that you avoid stabbing it as this creates a passage that forces it to cook too fast. Apart from this, stabbing causes the meat to lose its tenderness and juices. Instead, it is recommended that you turn the meat with appropriate barbecuing tongs.
