Choosing food for everyone at a BBQ
Thinking about food at any event that will include something for everyone, including vegetarians, vegans, those with allergies and those with other dietary needs is tough. At a
BBQ it is often assumed to be even tougher but this isn’t the case. Many people stick away from BBQs for big events assuming there will be nothing for anyone who doesn’t like burgers and sausages: there is no need for this to be the case.
Many people only eat white meat like chicken or fish, both chicken and fish are great to BBQ though. Fish especially is almost made to be smoked, really adding to the flavor. Chicken and other poultry BBQs well when done properly. Many people worry that you can’t cook chicken properly or safely on a BBQ, this isn’t the case, you just need the right temperature and a good BBQ and you can cook a whole bird on a BBQ.
For vegetarians there are plenty of meat substitute options like Quorn but things like bean burgers are actually much nicer and many people who are not vegetarian may go for them as something a bit different and a little healthier. There are plenty of vegetables that BBQ well too, often best done on kebab skewers, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, tomato and onion are all ideal for a summer BBQ.
