Do Not Keep Warm In Your Tent… With A BBQ Inside!
Many people love the great outdoors and the smell of a barbecue. In fact, barbecues are used just about every day on a campsite by the happy campers there. However, one word of warning to protect yourself is to ensure you always cook your food on the barbecue outside your tent.
Do not be tempted under any circumstances to take the barbecue into your tent, not even if you have finished cooking on it. Although the
BBQ may still be warm, and you may think that it is a good idea to take it into your tent to heat it up as those evening scan get a little cool, do not be tempted.
Barbecues give out carbon monoxide and continue to do this even after you have finished using them. Charcoals will continue to smolder and give out carbon monoxide for quite a long time after you have finished. As you may know carbon monoxide is a killer and if it is held in a closed environment, such as the limited area inside a tent, it can use the oxygen in there to keep burning. This is the oxygen you use to breathe!
If all the oxygen is used up, you will have nothing to breathe but the carbon monoxide, and that can be fatal!
