The Difference Between Grilling And Barbecuing

Most people interested in the culinary arts often think that a barbecue and grill are the same thing. However, there are a number of differences that define both these cooking methods. Granted, most of them involve the use of dry heat to cook the food. However, how it’s done is what makes them so different. In barbecuing, the heat used is usually of a much lower temperature than in grilling. This means that the food takes longer to cook. Most people think that this is a bad thing, but in reality it’s not. The fact that the foods cooks more gently when barbecuing means that it has more of a chance to absorb the flavors that are used. This in turn makes it more likely to be very tasty. Grilling on the other hand involves the use of more heat, which means the food cooks faster. Some of the foods that are good for grilling include burger patties and some vegetables and fruits. Chicken and steak are also foods that are usually grilled rather than barbecued. As you can see, there is a difference between these two terms. Though it’s only something to do with the amount of heat used and how long it takes to cook, grilling and barbecuing often end up having different results as far as taste is concerned.
